About Me I'm an old SCA brat from way back and have been doing this stuff since I was 6 and ran around in kiddie tights. Being raised in Faires, having a father with talent and being as all rennies (ie poor) I learned how to make what I wanted. So name the field and if it isn't a blade of made of cloth I have an idea for it. Current projects include: Minting coins, Platemail (gorgets and gauntlets until I get a better shop) and coronets.
Music If it doesn't twang or have a line about "Smaking my baby mama and stealin her crack" then I can dig it. If its acid rock I can really dig it.
Movies Anything dark or funny or both. Think "Clockwork Orange" or "Very Bad Things" here. Period films (duh), with Elizabeth and the sequel and prequel ("The Other Boelyn Girl") being high currently. Anything with Errol Flynn or Danny Kay. Most British comedians.
TV Insidious devil-box. I actually don't watch it. When I do its History, TLC, and Adult Swim.
Books "Stranger in a Strange Land" or anything else Heilein. "The Prophet" of Khalil Gibran. Historical, Philosophical, political. "The Prince" by Machiavelli. Tolkien, the grandfather of Fantasy. Edgar Rice Borroughs, who helped launched a siege of pulp sci-fi. "Malice Malifocorum" of Kramer &; Sprenger infamy. All of those novels, librams, paperbacks and books on my fathers shelves growing up. Anything a teacher I respected gave when they pulled me aside and said they thought I would understand it. Billy Shakespear, Sun Tzu, Gilgamesh, Beowulf, and anything else that has echoed through our combined culture to make us the civilized barbarians we now claim to be.
    (Pretentious I know)
Likes Cut to Scene: A cold gray morning, embers from the campfire glowing, friends just waking up with sleep in their eyes, and a good long smoke.
Hobbies Fencing (not chain-link or privacy), RPGs, leatherworking, armouring, silver-smithing, drawing/painting, reading, etc..
Vices Sleeping way too late, the occasional tot of good hard liquor I can't afford and the snuck in cigar.

Okay... Its taken me ages longer to get back here to update then I thought it would. Fall Faire has come and gone and now we are looking squarely into Spring. The next thing up for us is of course Aiden Mckain's venetian dinner. Me and my stomach are really looking forward to this. I got to hear all the stories about the last one and it sounds like a blast. I also think Adrianne can use the experience of meeting more folks and being around mundanes while shes in costume. Do the girl some good!

I'm gonna try to get photos of the crowns I did up as well as the original one by Dad. I think they turned out smashingly well and an old friend that was well acquinted with my father's work mistook them for his. Considering that was the look I was going for I will take that as a success. Anyway you can see them in some of the photos I just put up but you may have to squint.

New projects are gonna be our banners. We need some not 20 years old and made of rip-stop nylon and so I figure I'll do up a pair proper. I got the stuff this weekend so we'll see how long it take to paint two 4 foot banners front and back with heraldry by hand!

I also found my next side project. Flasks! I found a great supplier for the steel hip flasks at a low low price so I think Im gonna tool up some wrappings and chase the buggers with silver and see what I can turn out. Should be saucy but I have to balance that with what I actually need to get done so we'll see.

I am looking at next Fall's outfit already. We all know good clothes take months to produce without breaking the bank and I'm thinking Landskeicht (sp?) for our court. I adore the puff and slash and the sheer mad boldness of the colours and styles of late germany too much to pass up this oppertunity so get ready folks. And for those wanting a colour scheme to follow (no thats not most of you, but still) think bright jewel tones; any bright jewel tone.

Have no fear... I AM HERE!

Alright Jeff. I have looked you up and found the place. I've staked a peice for me and mine and I've even dug out an old photo from a few years back to slap up (faces removed to protect the innocent of course... okay, mainly the dog). You'll have to excuse the mess but I just moved in here and I haven't sorted it all out just yet. I seem to be fond of that lately.

Anyway, place looks great! Neighbors seem friendly enough and I'll have a place to brag too once I get off my butt and start living up to my Father's name and making things again. So give me a few days and I'll be in touch again.

Our Lady of the pin and thread has done me great service with her gift. I do look with anticipation to the weekend and seeing my good friends again after much too long.

To my suprise, it appears that we shall see you in Wichita on the Saturday of faire. Usually work doesn't permit for the fall faire, but this year I have held them hostage!

    It's in your blood, indeed.

Being Native American I know of Blackbear Bosin...it was a *great* honor for your grandfather to be taught by an Elder of that caliber.

It should go without saying that Allen and I have every confidence, however, that you will do them *both* proud...
